About Us
These Chambers were first established in 1972 by a group of seven barristers - mainly members of the then Midland & Oxford Circuit – and we have grown steadily until today we are nearly fifty strong with three silks. We provide expertise in most areas of the Common Law and, while we still maintain strong links with the now Midland Circuit and the Thames Valley Area, we currently appear in courts and tribunals in London and on a nationwide basis as well as undertaking both Appellate and Judicial Review work on a referral basis.
Over the years we have developed groups of specialist Advocates of all levels of experience who work together in teams (Civil & Commercial, Crime, Immigration & Public Law, Employment, Property and Housing and Family) to provide advisory and advocacy services in a wide variety of Common Law fields at all levels of seniority. This means that we can provide not only a wide breadth of experience but also the highest level of service in all of the fields in which we practise.
Our highly experienced clerking team will advise all potential clients on the suitability and availability of Counsel and will ensure that instructions are dealt with by a Barrister with the relevant speciality or experience.
Members of Chambers also regularly give seminars in their specialist fields and we are recognised by the Law Society for the provision of accredited seminars for continuing education as well as having been one of the first sets of Chambers in the country to receive the “Quality Mark” for the Bar.
