Negligence and personal injury claims
Alison has extensive expertise in a wide range of cases involving negligence and personal injury, including litigating claims for six-figure sums. She appears in fast-track and multi-track trials in the County Court and High Court (Queen’s Bench Division and Chancery Division) litigation; together with advisory and drafting work.

She has experience of all levels of road traffic, employers’ liability and occupiers’ liability claims. She is instructed by individual claimants and defendants, as well as insurance companies and the Motor Insurers Bureau.
She is responsible for training Chambers’ pupils in all aspects of PI law and practice.
Interim hearings:

Alison is instructed regularly in interim applications involving amending pleadings and schedules, strike out, set aside, Denton braches and tactical evidential matters.

Alison represents Claimant and Defendants in multi track, fast track and small claims hearings, within and outside the Portal. She regularly deals with costs applications, including fundamental dishonesty and QOCS, and has appeared before the Supreme Court Costs Office and Costs Masters for detailed assessments.

She has considerable experience of cases involving allegations of fraud, exaggeration and staged impacts (including video surveillance evidence) and low velocity impact claims.

She advises on evidence including expert evidence and financial evidence. Alison is happy to assist solicitors with tactical decisions.

Alison regularly advises on, and appears in, cases with multiple competing expert medical witnesses. She has particular expertise in multiple injury and catastrophic claims. Alison is one of the most frequently-reported barristers in Kemp and Kemp Personal Injury Practice and Current Law (both Sweet and Maxwell) over the past 10 years, meaning that her work is often quoted in quantum argument before the courts. As such, she has particular expertise in advising on quantum and drafting Schedules of Loss and Damage, including earning, pensions, future loss and loss of chance claims.

Credit hire:
Alison has received credit hire instructions from both Claimant and Defendants in cases involving six figure claims, involving challenges to all areas of the claim.
