Practice Profile

My criminal practice encompasses both defence and prosecution work.  Child Pornography, Indecent Assault, Possession and Supply of Drugs, to Housing and Council Tax Benefit Fraud.

My family practice encompasses, Private and Public Law, International Movement of Children, Child Abduction, The Children’s Act, Care cases, Guardian work, Divorce, Contact and Ancillary Relief.   

I have also represented clients at the Immigration Appeals Tribunal, the Employment Tribunal, the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board, in Personal Injury Claims, and in Building Disputes.

  • Anti-Social Behaviour Orders
  • R v Rogers [2004]
    Prosecuted one of the first Anti-Social Behaviour Orders and obtained a 10 year exclusion from the whole of the London Borough of Hounslow.
  • Contact/Custody/ Care/Residence
  • Surrey County Council and  Jones [2006]:
    Succeeded in advancing Legal argument to have mother present at the care hearing, despite all parties opposing the application, and the matter having been adjourned on three previous occasions.
  • London Borough of Wandsworth and O [2004]:
    Successfully obtained visiting rights for Mr O (from his baby son), who was a serving prisoner at the time. 
  • London Borough of Merton and Ali [2004]:
    Successfully opposed mother’s application to retain custody of her 18 month year old son which she had subjected to systematic abuse.
  • Housing Benefit Fraud
  • London Borough of Hillingdon and  Passmore [2007]:
    Benefits fraud.  Leading case: Times Law Report 28th June 2007 and/or Lawtel.
  • International Child Abduction
  • Babuscakova [2006]:
    Succeeded in abduction and custody proceedings by father when mother Maria Babuscakova left Slovakia, taking their children with her and residing in the UK.
  • White and White [2006]:
    Succeeded in a legal argument in relation to The Hague Convention and Brussels 11
  • International Movement of Children
  • Lake [2006]:
    Opposed mother’s application to remove Mr Lakes 3 year old son from the jurisdiction and immigrate to New Zealand.
  • Judicial Review
  • Shanmaganathan and South Western Magistrates [2004]:
    Successfully advanced legal argument on a judicial review against the Senior Clerk at South Western Magistrates Court on his refusal to state a case on points advanced by counsel acting on behalf of Mr Shanmaganathan.
  • Passport Fraud/Legal Argument
  • R v George:
    Successfully advanced novel abuse argument case involving serious passport offences.
  • R v Odukoye:
    Succeeded in persuading the trial judge that prior procedures had adversely affected the defendant’s legal rights in a fraud case.
  • Rape
  • R v  Cobbler [2007]:
    Secured an acquittal in a rape charge brought against him by his estranged wife.
  • R v Niles and others [2006]:
    Secured an acquittal in a gang rape charge on behalf of Mr Niles
  • R v Cohen [2006]:
    Secured an acquittal in a rape charge brought against him by his ex-girl friend
  • R v Ndebele [2006]:
    Secured an acquittal in a rape charge brought against him by his estranged wife
  • R v Eyarinho and another [2004]:
    Succeeded in a s.41 application to include previous sexual history
  • Unfair Dismissal
  • Roworth and Welbeck:
    Successful represented the client in the Stratford Employment Tribunal, in an unfair dismissal and rights to sick pay, and was again successful when the matter was appealed.
  • Carapiet and Belfast Local Authority:
    Successfully advanced legal argument on behalf of Mr Carapiet who was forced to retire at 60.
