We are running for a charity called Launchpad Reading, which provides supported housing to disadvantaged and vulnerable people in Reading. We appreciate that you may get many requests to dig deep but we’d be delighted if you’d support us and our chosen charity.

Areas of Practice
Jo practices primarily in crime and family but also accepts instructions in a range of other areas of law including personal injury and other general civil work.
Practice Profile
Family
As a member of the Family Team, I am regularly instructed in private law Children Act cases including contact and residence applications and emergency proceedings including non-molestation / occupation orders. As a pupil I assisted in a number of public law Children Act cases including Care and Adoption proceedings.
Civil
I have conducted a large number of personal injury cases, usually representing Claimants in Small Claims and Fast Track trials and disposals. I also regularly provide written advice on quantum of general damages.
Criminal
I regularly prosecute and defend in the Crown, Magistrates and Youth Courts.
My Crown Court trials have included drugs (possession & supply), burglary, assault ABH, witness intimidation, offensive weapons and false identity document offences.
In the Youth Court, my practice has involved prosecuting and defending a number of serious offences, including assault GBH and Supply of Class A drugs. I also prosecute lists including custody & warrant cases and successfully opposed one of the last Youth Court applications for bail in a murder case.
My Magistrates Court practice incorporates prosecuting lists for a number of different CPS areas and defending both legally aided and private clients, covering the full range of summary trials including violence (particularly domestic violence), theft and robbery, public order offences, weapons, drugs, all types of motoring offences and minor sexual offences.
I prosecute breach cases for Probation involving multiple breaches of multiple concurrent and inter-linked orders in both Crown and Magistrates Courts. G4S also instruct me to prosecute breaches of curfew requirements in the Crown Court, usually involving suspended sentence orders.
Other
I represent clients in the unique civil/criminal environment of ASBO proceedings conducting both trials and extensive legal argument.
I also have an interest in Prison Law.
