Practice Profile

Have defended for over thirty years, have prosecuted for over twenty years and for the last ten have had a specialisation in all sexual assaults and child abuse. My practice has included murder, manslaughter, importing and supplying drugs, possession fo indecent images, robberies – with or without firearms, plus prosecution of a headmaster for child cruelty in allowing child abuse to happen at school.

Case Profile

  • R v Fowler
    Defendant accused of taking indecent photographs. Issue was whether defendant knew that he was taking the photographs as they turned out whether the offence could be committed recklessly. Experts on photography instructed for both sides.
  • R v Morphy and Morphy
    A News of the World expose of a country house brothel. Issues of entrapment and whether the proprietors controlled the girls. Also involved financial confiscation and the case was recently back in the Court of Appeal as a Criminal Cases Review Commission referral on the issue of calculation of benefit for the purpose of financial confiscation.
  • R v Beales
    Handling of a large quantity of silver by an antique dealer.
