Michael Roques
My practice is exclusively in the area of Crime. I both defend and prosecute the full range of criminal offences. I have been instructed in a number of significant cases including murders, rapes, importations and frauds. I have also prosecuted a number of complex multi handed cases.
I have also been instructed in a number of Courts Martial cases, travelling to Germany to represent soldiers from a range of Regiments.
Criminal Law Experience
I have been engaged in a large volume of Criminal work covering all areas of Criminal Practice.
Dishonesty- I have been instructed in large scale conspiracy to defraud matters, substantial theft from employers as well as a range of burglary, armed robbery and theft cases.
Sexual Offences- I have conducted a number of trials covering all levels of offence including a number of Rape cases (all of which I have successfully defended), Sexual assault matters, historic abuse cases and a range of offences under both the old and new legislation.
Violence- I am regularly instructed at all levels including a number of murders briefs and have dealt with an attempted murder alone at the Central Criminal Court, I have dealt with numerous s18s, firearms offences and lesser violence.
Drugs- I have dealt with the full range of drugs offences, from simple possession through to large scale importations, cannabis factory cases and substantial conspiracies to supply Class A drugs.

Interests
I have many interests outside the bar including theatre, film, literature, and sports. I have been involved in a number of stage productions including King Lear and The Cherry Orchard. I have also been known to throw myself out of an airplane at 12000 ft whilst strapped to a man wearing a parachute. I have travelled around Europe, Asia and AfricaBangladesh. I also play (with no competence at all) a range of sports including cricket, golf and badminton and tennis. and spent a short while living in
