Pupillage

Full Twelve Month Funded Pupillage:
We offer two twelve-month pupillages commencing in October. They are generously funded, with an award of £6,000 in the first six months and an earnings guarantee of at least £6,000 in the second although in practice, this figure is usually exceeded. During pupillage, you will receive not only thorough practical training in common law advocacy but also experience each of our four specialist areas, spending time with barristers from our criminal, civil, family and immigration teams. We encourage pupils to experience as wide a variety of work as possible, allowing you to decide where your skills and interests lie. We also encourage pupils to participate in the work and social life of chambers at an early stage and consider ourselves to be a particularly friendly and approachable group of people. We recruit tenants based on merit but like, where possible, to select our junior tenants from among our own pupils.

We generally expect pupils to have excellent academic credentials and at least an upper second-class degree. We look for pupils who are prepared to work hard and have a genuine commitment to the bar. Applications to chambers should be made via the OLPAS system. Chambers is an equal opportunities employer.

Third Six Pupillages
We encourage applications from those who have already completed twelve months of pupillage. With a growing caseload within chambers, we require third six pupils who will predominantly undertake criminal work. However, third six pupils will also be able to experience work within the other areas of chambers practice.

Mini-Pupillages
We do not presently offer mini-pupillages.
