Success for Adam Williams (Leading Counsel) and Kirsty Day (Junior Counsel) prosecuting five defendants involved in a violent attack in prison.

Mr Adam Williams and Ms Kirsty Day secured the convictions of five defendants who carried out a premediated and targeted attack on a fellow prisoner with improvised weapons, causing serious injuries to his arms, neck and back.

Three defendants entered guilty pleas to S18 wounding on the second day of trial.

Despite this being a Victimless Prosecution, through careful and meticulous presentation of the CCTV and evidence of prison officers, the remaining two defendants were convicted of S18 wounding and S20 wounding respectively following an 8-day trial at Oxford Crown Court.
