Success for Ciara Moran in the Court of Appeal
25 Jun 2024
The Court of Appeal (Criminal Division) allowed an appeal against sentence for a young man disqualified from driving for four years after a guilty plea to causing injury through careless driving. Ciara Moran, instructed by Rajah Azam of ABV Solicitors, successfully argued that the disqualification was manifestly excessive and inadequate reasons had been given by the sentencing Judge for imposing a disqualification far above the mandatory minimum. Lord Justice Griffiths, handing down the judgment, said that: "the appeal has been concisely and attractively argued by Ms. Moran, and we are very grateful to her for her written and oral submissions."
