Ellen accepts instructions across Chambers’ practice areas, including immigration and public law, crime, and civil matters.

Ellen completed pupillage at a specialist immigration chambers with a focus on direct access work. This enables her to advise practically on case strategy and practical evidence management, and she is particularly experienced at developing a rapport with vulnerable clients.

Prior to pupillage, Ellen was a paralegal at the Migrant Childrens Legal Unit at Islington Law Centre, and at the Infected Blood Inquiry. She also volunteered with Legal Centre Lesvos and the School Exclusion Project, and worked as a youth advocate at a legal charity assisting vulnerable children and young people across immigration, homelessness, social care, and criminal justice matters.

Ellen twice received the Queen Mother Scholarship from Middle Temple (the Inn’s top scholarship at the time) and was awarded a best advocate prize at European Court of Human Rights moot in 2022.

Interests

Ellen is a member of the Executive Committee of the Haldane Society of Socialist Lawyers. She also sits on the bureau of the International Association of Democratic Lawyers. She is a long-term volunteer with a refugee youth movement and is learning French (which she speaks to a B2 level) and Spanish (which she speaks to a A2 level).
