Acquitted of Murder and two counts of s.18 GBH at the Central Criminal Court.

Another success for Richard Moss being led by James Mulholland KC of 23ES and instructed by Richard Brown of Baxter Brown McArthur Solicitors.

James and Richard represented the fifth defendant in this seven-handed murder trial at the Central Criminal Court which concluded on 28th June 2023 after a seven week trial.

The deceased, Mirko Naramcic, was killed as a result of being stabbed in a violent altercation in Maguire Drive, Ham in March 2022. The Crown’s case was that the attack was a “team effort” involving the occupants of two vehicles.

The first four defendants were associated with the first vehicle. The last three defendants were associated with another vehicle. James and Richard represented the driver of that vehicle.

The defence advanced was that vehicle and its occupants had an innocent reason for being in Maguire Drive at the time and did not share a common intention with others to cause at least really serious harm.

The case involved analysis and scrutiny of voluminous CCTV, cell site and eyewitness evidence.

After over 24 hours of deliberations the jury convicted the first and third defendants of all counts and acquitted the other defendants.
