Back to work and another unanimous acquittal for Clare Evans in another rape trial, this time at Swindon Crown Court, instructed by Paul Gilmartin of Albin & Co.

Clare's client said the sex between him and his ex partner was consensual, she said it was rape. The complainant waited 7 months before making the allegation but had told her friend and colleague the day after it had happened. She pointed to an 'apology' email sent to her by her ex partner only days later. 

What might have seemed like an open and shut case for the prosecution unravelled before the jury's eyes as Clare confronted the complainant with contradictory telephone, taxi, and banking records. 

After securing a speedy acquittal, Clare's client emailed his thanks to Paul Gilmartin later that night, adding "Can you please please thank the barrister again for me as she is absolutely amazing.
