The First Tier Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber) has allowed the appeal of a young Afghan man who had applied for entry clearance to join his brother in the UK in the light of his vulnerability and health conditions. Karen Staunton, instructed by Katie Bennett at Coram Children’s Legal Centre, successfully persuaded the Judge that there were serious and compelling reasons to grant the appeal, that the Appellant could be adequately maintained and accommodated by his brother in the UK, and that, if that were not the case, there were nevertheless exceptional circumstances to justify allowing the appeal.
