Gwynn was formerly a commercial partner with a large firm of solicitors in the City of London and has an MBA from a well-known business school. He undertakes, commercial, matrimonial finance, family, employment, regulatory, licensing, and Inquests. He is authorised to undertake public access cases by the BSB.

He has appeared for celebrity clients and landowners as well as professional clients and has done a number of farming cases and drafted ante-nuptial settlements as well as post-hearing settlements. He has appeared in courts throughout the country including the Court of Appeal, the High Court and the Central Family Court. He has drafted relevant pleadings including Forms A and E and supporting documents and been involved in mediation as well as contested court proceedings. He also specialised in family finance as part of a post graduate qualification. Gwynn has been involved in several final hearings and FDRs throughout the country in recent years and is a specialist in this field. He has extensive experience of commercial litigation. This includes building, employment and entertainment contracts, copyright and patent disputes, sports law and insolvency. He has also represented Claimants and Defendants in a wide range of important civil litigation matters especially chemical poisoning disputes, accidents in factories, hospitals and on oil rigs, and medical negligence actions following surgery. He was Standing Counsel to the Department of Trade and Industry, for many years, undertaking company and commercial matters on their behalf.
Gwynn was a part-time employment judge for over ten years. He has been before the Employment Appeal Tribunal, the High Court, the Administrative Court, the Court of Appeal and the Divisional Court, on many occasions, representing employers and employees, as well as before Employment Tribunals throughout the country. Several cases have involved public law and human rights issues and he has acted in complex discrimination disputes. He advises on (and drafts) employment contracts and is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and the Employment Law Bar Association. He also does public and direct work. He has post-graduate qualifications in Employment and European Union law and has lectured part-time.
He was a partner and head of licensing at a firm of London solicitors representing Courage Brewery and other major licensing companies, including off-licence chains and supermarkets, and undertook significant work throughout England and Wales for 5 years and, thereafter, at the Bar. Gwynn has represented applicants and objectors (including police) before licensing justices and committees, at the Crown Court on appeals and in the Divisional Court. He has also undertaken high profile gambling matters, including casino cases, which appeared in the national headlines.
Gwynn has appeared at inquests on behalf of the police and the deceased’s family plus commercial organisations, including representing police in a high profile case where an elderly male died after being tasered. He has also appeared on behalf of the deceased and employers and companies involving fatalities due to alleged defects in specialist equipment including diving fatalities inland (Dorothy Quarry North Wales) and on the sea.
